Nature-based Therapeutic Work

for life’s difficult moments and the quiet work of finding your way back

A calm, compassionate space to explore grief, overwhelm, life transitions, and the quieter parts of yourself that need tending.

Sessions offered one-to-one, online, or outside in nature.

Therapy That Meets You Where You Are

Hi, I'm Josie, MBACP registered integrative therapist, former teacher, mother, and someone who knows what it's like to rebuild from the inside out.

My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens slowly, gently, and in connection. After years in education, I retrained in psychotherapy and began exploring how nature, creativity, and presence can support emotional wellbeing in a more honest, embodied way.

I offer therapy that meets you where you are, without judgement, without rush. Whether you're holding grief, navigating burnout, feeling disconnected, or simply longing for space to breathe again, you're welcome here.

My approach is intuitive and person-centred. Alongside the talking, somatic awareness, mindfulness, creative tools, and connection to the natural world are all there, should they be useful to you.

This work is about coming home to yourself, in all your mess, your beauty, your truth. It's my privilege to walk alongside you as you do.

How we might work together

Wild Sanctuary

A monthly space for the parts of yourself that don't always get attention, held gently, through writing, reflection, and practice.

Each season, four weekly offerings: a piece of writing, a grounding practice, a guided reflection, and a space to gather with others doing the same work. It's a way of processing what's moving through you, using many of the same tools I bring into sessions, just held in writing and community rather than one-to-one.

We begin mid-season, on purpose, so you feel the season fully, rather than rushing to keep up with it.

Wild Sanctuary lives on Substack, under Echoes of Wild Within. £7 a month, come for a season, or stay for the year.

Follow Along On Social

Every piece of work looks different, because every person is different. We'll find a way of working that fits you, whether that's mostly talking, mostly outdoors, mostly quiet, or somewhere in between. There's no set formula here, just a way of paying attention to what you actually need.

I'm based in Tameside and offer a flexible approach to therapy, so sessions can happen in whatever way suits you best:

  • Online therapy — convenient and accessible from your own space

  • Walk-and-talk therapy — nature-based sessions outdoors, combining movement with therapeutic support

  • Therapy room — a comfortable, private space in Hyde for in-person sessions

Sessions are £70 for a 50-minute session. A limited number of sliding scale places (£50–£65) are available if you're on a lower income, a student, or navigating financial uncertainty.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how ecotherapy, somatic and creative psychotherapy works, or get in touch below to arrange a short, free initial chat. This gives us the chance to talk about what's bringing you to therapy, and whether I'm the right therapist to support you.

You can also book a free initial chat directly here, or call me on 07881596229 if you'd prefer to speak directly.

I practice Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and usually reply within these days. All contact is strictly confidential, using secure phone and email services.
